[img[gals.jpg]] Finally we are done with highschool. Im so excited to never go back to that place again. Ugh, four more hours to go... but i'm excited to see Mrs.Murphy. Shes like my second mom. Her and my mom went to Penn state together, and became besties. Then a few years later, she had Jess, the same time my mom had me. Pretty crazy coincidence. We've been besties ever since. Sisters through and through. Along our way, during freshman year of highschool to be exact, we met Rachel. She was really wierd. I think thats why we liked her. She didnt have many friends but man was she funny. Quiet at first, but when you get to know her she'll have you crying tears of joy. It was within the first time she came out of her shell and made us laugh that we realized we needed her in our lives. Since then, its been the three of us. Every life event, every heartbreak, and all four years of highschool later, here we are. We all grew up in Philly, but Jess's mom got a job in Conneticut and since there was only a year left of highschool, Jess fought her on moving there and begged to finish out the year with her friends at her old school. Mrs. Murphy is the nicest lady I know, so she of course obliged, but had to take the job. They offered her triple the income she was already making. She agreed to let her finish the last year of school in Philly, with her dad. After a year, her dad will move to Conneticut and she'll be off to college anyways. So that brings us to this trip. We wanted to go visit Mrs. Murphy for a week before we start summer break. College is coming up fast and we loved her like our own mom, so we all loved the idea of going to see her. About 4 more hours to go. Jess is driving, blasting some road trip playlist she copied from pintrest and Rach is trying her best to navigate us using google maps, but the cell service seems to be choppy. Im in the back doing what the back seat passenger does best, relaxing. Rachel: "I cant seem to get this map to stop glitching, my bars are going up and down." Jess: "Did you try holding it out the window? Maybe you can get some more bars?" Rachel: *sarcastically* "Wow that might be the smartest thing you've said all day" How do you react?: [["Rachel, be nice, shes trying to give you ideas.."|path2]] or [["Hahaha.. yeah Jess that wasn't your best idea"|path3]]

Jess: "Whatever, I guess well go left. Whatever makes the princess happy." Rachel seemed physically relieved. I couldnt put my finger on it but something seemd off. As we turned down the road, Rach was looking off to the right, staring down the path we didint take. She semed physically relieved. As if we were avoiding something awful. It put a wierd feeling in my stomach but I just shook it off. Jess: "I dont understand why you would want to go this way, but you better be right." Rach:" Trust me, Im almost positive this is the right way." Jess: "Mhm" They calmed down after driving in the dark for about 10 min, when a woman jumped out from the side of the road. Jess swerved trying not to hit her causing us all to think were dying. All: "AHHHH" Rach: "WHAT THE HELL???" Jess: "WHY IS THERE A WOMAN THERE, PLEASE TELL ME YOU GUYS SAW THAT???" As Rach was trying to catch her breath she says, " Yes we saw her. Calm down and put the car in park." Jess: "Put the car in park?! Are you crazy?? Im not going to let that freak on the side of the road kill us!!" Rachel" Oh my god, she probably just needs help, I think she was even holding a baby just relax." She begins to unbuckle her seatbelt and open the door. "Im just going to see what she needs, she might even have a phone with service." Jess begins to say no whe Rach slams the door. Jess: "Oh my god, what is she thinking, shes going to get us killed!" "I know, should we get out too?" Jess: "No no, just stay here Ill go see, I dont want anyone to steal the car if no ones in it." "Ok, be safe, scream if you need help." We both laugh. Jess: "yeah okay" she rolls her eyes. She closes the door and Im left in the car. I turn in the backseat to look out the rear window and I can see a hazy view of a woman holding what looks like a baby. Next to her is Rachel and they seem to be arguing? I cant tell. Jess makes her way over to them and they begin talking. It seems like they cant understand the woman. Jess then tells Rachel to just go back to the car, and gives her a light push in the direction of the vehicle. She seems to be sayign that she'll take care of it. Wierd. Rachel rolls her eyes? I think; making her way back to the car. Rachel opens the door and sits down, turning to me. Rachel:"God, that lady really has some nerve." "What do you mean what is going on?" Rachel:"She was like getting angry at me for not having a working phone or soemthing! Like lady, you dont even have a phone why are you snapping at me trying to help?!" She continues "Ugh this is what I get for trying to be helpful." "Hahah its so like you to get into a fight with a random woman on the side of the road." Rachel groans, "whatever, she can find her own way home." Some more time passes, and we both get concerned. Rachel: "I dont hear talking anymore. Im going to go see whats going on." "Okay just hurry back, Im getting the creeps being out here." She closes the door again, and I watch her walk back over to where they were. But she freezes, theyre not there anymore. What the- Ok im scared now. I shift in my seat and look to the other side of the car and out the front, maybe they were walking? I dont see them anywhere, I can barely even see the road. Its too dark. I glance back to Rachel and shes gone. My heart drops to my stomach. Im frozen. My first instinct is to leave. I need to get out of here. Ive seen how these movies end. I jump from the backseat and climb into the drivers seat. Immediatly locking the doors. I shift the car into drive and as soon as i let off the breaks. Its Jess. She slams herself on the passenger side window, covered in blood. Jess: "HELP, PLEASE, LET ME IN. LET ME IN!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING??" Oh my god. What do I do? Rachel is furious, something wierd shines in her eyes. Rachel: "Guys this is the wrong way. We need to go back." But, Jess wasnt having it. We sped off to the right and I had a feeling of.. relief come over my body. It feels like we just avoided something bad. Rachel looks into the backseat, but shes not looking at me. Shes staring past me out the back window, as if shes left something behind. I can tell shes worried behind her angry eyes. But there was something else. They looked almost glared over. I had to snap her out of it. "Rach!" She snaps her eyes down to me. Void of emotion. "Are you okay?" Rach: "We should've turned around" She says without blinking. She turns back around and faces foward in her seat. Something about it wasnt natural. She was being so strange it was starting to spook me out. Jess caught on. Jess: "Rach why are you acting so-" And in that moment, Rach leans over and giant razor sharp teeth pertrude out of her mouth as she rips into Jess's jugular. My body went into shock. I cant describe the noise that came out of my mouth, but I felt like I was choking on air. Frozen to my seat, as this creature who was just rachel, was now tearing into my best friends throat. Im not sure how much time had passed, but Jess's head thumped onto her lap. Her torso not attatched. Rach- I mean this thing, who was now staring at Jess's headless corpse, slowly turned her neck toward me. It was smiling. Its teeth, dripping in blood, were ready for their next victim; and it was me. Her eyes were now pitch black, void of life, staring right into my soul. I took in a deep breath, about to let out the only scream I could muster, when she [[lunged|path12]].

Jess is completely out of breath. Struggling to form words. Jess: "It, it was Rach- I was talking to the lady and Rachel just- I dont know I cant." "What do you mean it was Rachel?? Did she attack you guys???" Jess: "Yes I dont knnow what happened, she walked over and just snapped! She went crazy, I had to fight for my life." "Oh my god. We need to get out of here. Where do I go?!" Were both on the verge of hyperventalating. Jess:" Just keep going, this road loops out to the main highway. Should be another mile or so." Thats wierd. How would Jess know that? She wanted us to turn right? "Wait how do you know that?" Jess:" Just a little bit further..." "Why arent you answering my question?" I glance away from the road to look at her, shes staring right at me. Black eyes, void of life. Razor sharp teeth tripping in blood. All the air left my lungs. I tried to scream, but it was too late. I speed off. My gut was telling me to go. And my gut was right. As soon as my tires gripped the gravel road, I took one last look at Jess. Who was not Jess anymore. Pitch black eyes that seemed to swallow her face, accompanied by a mouth full of razor sharp teeth were looking back at me. It smashes the passengerside window as I speed away. Nearly dodging a grusome death. I watch it in my rearview mirror staring back at me in the middle of the road, eventualy fading into the darkness. I just barely [[escaped|path15]].

Nope. Im not falling for that. Ive known my friends since before puberty and that is not them. I take off running in the opposite direction. Its pitch black out but the moon is helping my eyes adjust to as much as I can. Im trying to follow the road for as long as my feet take me. "HELP, PLEASE HELP" God I wish someone could hear me. Its getting closer. I can hear it moving behind me through the forest edge. And its moving fast. Inhumanly fast. Im sprinting so fast I feel like Im about to pass out. My legs are starting to give out. And thats when I see the road ahead. Its a main road. A highway. Its fully lit by cars and streetlights. I run onto it and flag down the first car that stops. Its an older man in a truck. He pulls over and I sprint to him. "Are you okay dear?" My heart is beating so fast I can hardly form words. "Please help I need to get out of here can you drive me?" He's extremely confused. "Get in and you can tell me what happened." I climb in quickly. "Please drive... thank you, thank you really.... oh my god." He speeds away from the curb and back onto the highway. He hands me his phone. "Call 911 and tell me evberythign that happened." Once we are finally pull back onto the road, a wave of relief comes over me. Im watching out the window and at the last second I see it. It was just for a few seconds but I saw it. Staring back at me at the edge of the [[trees|path15]]. [img[demon.png]]

I cant believe shes actually angry about that. Shes acting so wierd. For the next hour and a half we struggled to find cell reception. Not to mention Rachel was being snappy. She kept turning the music down after Jess turned it up, claiming she had a "headache". She kept glaring at me from the cornwer of her eye and it was starting really make me uncomfortable. When it came to the directions I started to worry if her attitude towards us would affect how helpful she would be. Finally after driving aimlessly through the backroads, the sun was down. Using only our highbeams, we stumble upon a fork. Left or right. [img[fork.png]] Rachel: "Guys I think left is the right way, I think I remmember the map going that way before we lost service." Jess: "No, I definitley think we need to go right. I think I can see the highway lights." I really think that we should go right, my gut is telling me to. But, what if Jess is right? Jess is pissed. I feel bad but I had to trust my gut. somethign was telling me we shouldnt go that way. She obliges and we go down the road to the left. I had a wave of relief come over me, I feel like we just avoided something bad. Rachel seems content, but Jess on the other hand looks distraut. Shes looking around, wiht almost a fear in her eyes. What could she possibly be so scared of? " Are you okay Jess?" Jess: "Something is wrong. We shouldnt be here." Rach:"I dont see anything being wrong, whats your deal?" Jess didnt respond immediatly, but her composure changed. She was still. Jess: "We shouldve turned back. " But her voice was different. Her voice was deeper, almost not human? Rach: "Ew Jess why do you sound like-" Rachel was cut off when Jess snapped her head towards her and in an instant, tore into her throat. I choked on the air around me. Unable to even form words. My body was frozen, glued to the seat while razor sharp teeth sliced their way through my best friends neck. This isnt real. This isnt real. Im not sure how much time had passed, but Rachels head was now in her lap. Her torso, not attatched. Jess- I mean that thing, slowly lifted its head and turned its neck towards me. Its eyes were pitch black, with more teeth than I could count. I was next. As I took in a breath of air, ready to scream, it [[lunged|path12]].

You take Rachels side. Shes Elated. Jess on the other hand. Is furious. Jess: "Im so sick of you guiys doing this shit to me. Just leave me alone and let me drive. " Rachel is gleaming. She looks back to me as if shes just won a game. I on the other hand feel awful. I wasnt trying to get on Rachels bad side, but I shouldnt have been so mean to Jess. The next 2 hours of our drive is silence. No music, not voices, just the hum of the engiune. At this point the sun was down and we could onoly see as much as our headlights allowed. I really shouldnt have been so mean, I think I shoudl apologize for real this time. "Hey Jess listen im really-" SMASH within a split second, a deer ran out in front of us and the car went spiralling We were all screaming at the top of our lungs while jess was trying to regain control of the car. We spun to the edge of the road and our tire caught the lip of the road and we flipped. About four times to be exact. Ending us up upside down in a ditch right on the edge of the forest. I wake up upside down. Thank god for seatbelts. "Is everyone okay?" I look around. Both of their seats are empty. Oh my god. But I remember they both had their seatbelts on? I struggle to unbuckle my seatbelt and thud on the roof. Ow. I need to get out. I climbed out the window to my right, it was shattered. I feel okay though, at least ok enough to stand. Please god I hope theyre okay. I search all around the car, theyre no where to be found. Theres no other cars aropund us, only forest. I dont see any blood anywhere. "JESS!! RACH!! WHERE ARE YOU??" Im starting to panic when I hear it. "Over here!!!" I hear from deep inside the forest. It sounded muffled and eeriely not human? "JESS? RACH? IS THAT YOU?" "HELP" it says "HELP ME" My stomach drops. I have this horrible feeling in my gut. I dont think thats my friends. But then wherw else would they be? What do I do? [[Trust your gut. RUN!|path16]] [[Help your friends, it has to be them.|path17]]
